Since the 1960s, people who have made Blacksburg and the New River Valley their home have found the transition made easier by joining the Blacksburg Newcomers’ Club. We welcome residents of any age, sex, race, or religion.
Club members meet monthly for a general meeting which includes a social time and a fun, informative program. As a member you will receive a monthly newsletter that includes general meeting and Interest Group information.
Activities
Our Interest Groups offer opportunities to meet others and share hobbies and common interests. Interest Groups include: Book Clubs, Bunko, Charitable Endeavors, Lunch Group, Moms and Tots, Movie Group, Out to Dinner Group, Scrapbooking, Wine Club, and many more!
Social events are also planned in the evenings for all members, including spouses. Past events have included Mix n’ Mingles and Kentucky Derby socials. Club members also have the opportunity to participate in special projects include volunteering, collecting supplies for community programs, and fundraising for local charities.
