The Club's WEATHER POLICY is updated

  • We do NOT follow Montgomery County K-12 schools schedule.

  • We WILL follow VIRGINIA TECH cancellations and delays. 

  • If you're ever unsure, please check the Newcomers Calendar before heading out to any whole-club event, including meetings.

  • The Calendar will always be updated with weather-related  changes.

Outreach speaker - NRV Cares - Leah Wechtaluk-McFarren

  • NRV CARES is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children and

  • strengthening families across the New River Valley.

  • NRV CARES advances its mission through three vital program areas: Parent Education, Community Education, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). These programs work hand in hand to preventchild abuse, strengthen families, and build resiliency.

  • Leah Wechtaluk-McFarren has been on staff at NRV CARES since 2012. She currently splits her time between the CASA program and Parent Education programs.

Dr. Fred Rawlins II, DO

​Senior Associate Dean for Simulation and Technology and Associate Professor for Emergency Medicine

Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) 

 

Dr. Rawlins is a distinguished physician and educator at one of the most prestigious Osteopathic Schools in the country. In the last 22 years he has focused his research on the integration of simulated medicine practices into training medical professionals. This began initially as constructing curriculum for medical students and has evolved into competency-based education for resident and practicing physicians. 

 

Dr. Rollins is a well known educator and will be discussing areas of health concerns and share updates regarding our country's medical system.
